The Macon Area Tennis Association (MATA) is a community-driven organization dedicated to fostering tennis among youth and adults alike. Founded by John Drew Smith in the early 1970s, MATA aims to provide a supportive environment for beginners and seasoned players through a variety of programs, competitions, and partnerships that enhance the tennis experience in Macon and surrounding areas.
