Founded in 1983, the American SIDS Institute is a national nonprofit health care organization that works to reduce the incidence of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) and enhance infant health. Through comprehensive nationwide programs, the Institute conducts research into the causes of sudden infant deaths, educates the public and medical community about prevention methods, and offers support to families suffering from loss.
