Founded in 1971, the Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) is a 501(c)(3) organization with over 3500 members worldwide. Its mission is to advocate for women and girls in mathematics by providing support, building networks, and raising awareness about the importance of diversity and inclusivity in the mathematical sciences. The AWM develops programs that foster a nurturing environment for women entering the field and works to increase their visibility and representation in various sectors.
