Mission

Genetic counsultation is available to improve access to information and clinical services to underserved communities. in 2020, ferre institute was asked to manage and coordinate a 4-year project to increase awareness and access to genetic services. this project is known as nymac (new york-mid-atlantic-caribbean) regional genetics network is funded by the genetic services branch in the health resources and services administration's hrsa maternal and child health bureau (hrsa-20-046). the nymac region consists of ten jurisdictions including eight states, the district of columbia, and two u.s. territories (delaware, the district of columbia, maryland, new jersey, new york, pennsylvania, puerto rico, virginia, west virginia and the u.s. virgin islands.
