Mission
The Umstead Coalition is a volunteer-led, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation and protection of William B. Umstead State Park and the surrounding Richland Creek Corridor. Founded in 1968, we defend the park from threats such as quarry operations, airport expansions, and highway constructions. Our coalition operates on donations, with all funds raised going directly to support the park's maintenance and conservation efforts.
