Mission
Founded in 1989 by futurist John L. Petersen, The Arlington Institute is a 501(c)(3) non-profit research institute that specializes in thinking about global futures and trying to influence rapid, positive change. The organization operates on the premise that effective thinking about the future is impossible without casting a very wide net and focuses on current trends in science, technology, and social value shifts to identify wild cards and prepare for a new global reality.
