The National Council for Black Studies (NCBS) is the leading organization of Black Studies professionals, dedicated to the promotion and development of the discipline of Africana/Black Studies. Founded in 1975, NCBS aims to advance academic excellence, support community activism, and foster social responsibility through innovative educational programs, research initiatives, and advocacy for the historical and contemporary issues affecting people of African descent.
