Mission
The Anthracite Scenic Trails Association (ASTA) is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to the development and maintenance of trails in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. Established 25 years ago, ASTA focuses on converting abandoned railroad corridors into safe recreational routes for cyclists and pedestrians, enhancing community health, access to nature, and economic opportunities through active outdoor engagement.
