Since 2002, WEFTA has been connecting donors, engineers, and communities to ensure access to clean drinking water in Latin America and Africa. They provide technical and administrative support to ensure the systems remain sustainable and continue to serve communities effectively.
WEFTA engineers facilitate community dialogue leading to solutions for inadequate sewage treatment and address its environmental impacts. These projects improve the health and quality of life in partner communities by reducing waterborne diseases and instituting hygienic practices.
WEFTA's passionate volunteers provide technical design support, project verification, and monitoring. Their efforts have enhanced community capacities to maintain water and sanitation systems, contributing to sustainable development and hygiene improvements.
Impact Expansion to Africa
In 2018, WEFTA expanded its work from Latin America to several countries in East Africa, addressing water and wastewater system improvements for the first time on the continent.
