Mission

In a time of widespread mistrust, political division, and industry (continue to schedule o) upheaval, journalists must have a new resolve: they must consider not just what they report, but how they find, frame, and tell stories about communities who are often inaccurately depicted in the media. journalists often do not consider the perspectives of community members in how coverage is conceived, often leading to concepts and language that promote stereotypes, erase nuance, or highlight implicit bias. resolve philly was formed to address how the industry can more effectively cover these communities particularly those experiencing racial injustice and economic hardship by including their perspectives and voices directly in reporting. elevating those voices enables communities to tell their own stories and helps to change the perceptions that perpetuate discrimination.
