The purpose of the children's justice center of iron county (cjc) is to provide a comfortable, safe place for abused children to come during the investigative process, to decrease the likelihood of secondary trama that can be caused by the "system" meant to protect them, to minimize the number of times the child must be interviewed by professionals, to ensure cases are processed promptly and efficiently, to encourage involved professionals to work together as a team - sharing information and improving coordination in investigations, to focus on what is in the best interest of the affected child by ensuring every opportunity for service, protection and prosecution, to track the child's case to ensure they do not get lost in the system, and to raise community awareness of the problem of abuse and provide training for professionals. the attorney general's office of the state of utah provides the operational funding for the cjc. the friends board provides resources that are not funded by t
