Mission
Wabanaki Youth In Science (WaYS) is a grassroots education program that focuses on blending Indigenous cultural knowledge with western scientific practices. It was founded in 2013 to provide experiential learning opportunities and to encourage Native youth's persistence in science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) fields. Programs include cultural knowledge camps, internships, after school programs, and learning experiences in tribal schools, all designed to empower and prepare Native youth to address environmental and social challenges.
