Dream Award Scholar Oyuky Aragon-Flores is pursuing a career as a physician’s assistant, hoping to bring culturally aware care to communities like hers. Her journey is inspired by her sisters’ health struggles and her training as an Emergency Medical Technician and Certified Nursing Assistant.
Despite facing childhood cancer, diabetes, and a heart transplant, Mitch Peterson pursued his higher education with determination. With help from the Dream Award, he is now studying engineering at Stanford and aiming for a career in medical device development.
Having faced significant challenges since childhood, including the loss of her father and supporting her family, Chantel Lewis-Cummings is working towards becoming an engineering manager and ultimately a CEO, thanks to the support from Scholarship America.

Since 2014, Scholarship America has provided life-changing scholarship assistance through The Dream Award to 130 students who overcame significant obstacles to get to college and faced challenges with tuition beyond their freshman year.
