Ruggles camp & retreat center, inc. is a religious organization owned by the kentucky conference of the united methodist church which operates under the church's group ruling issued by its council on finance and administration. ruggles sponsors a religious camp meeting held for 12 days each year in july. it also sponsors three youth camps for senior, junior high & elementary children and makes the grounds available for other youth camps, retreats, revivals, home comings, conference meetings and other church sponsored events for donations to cover utilities. the limestone ohio valley emmaus community based in maysville uses the grounds for retreats, called "walks".
