Little gems of the sierra is a community that honors and nurtures the whole child - head, heart, and hands by engaging the mind, enlivening the imagination, and strengthening the will. the specific purpose of this corporation is to operate early childhood programs emphasizing a curriculum inspired by waldorf education, with the additional goal of increasing accessibility to these educational opportunities. little gems shall operate an early childhood education center for children who are eighteen (18) months to five (5) years old in truckee, california.

The roundhouse is a non-profit makerspace that supports the teaching, learning, and practicing of a wide variety of crafts, skills, technologies, and arts in the truckee-tahoe community.

All the significant activities focus around making a positive impact on youth via nature based programs. the 3 most significant activies include: 1) "sierra experience" which includes both camps and school program services; 2)"whmb - whole hearts, minds, and bodies" focuses on nature based therapeutic mentoring which stives to develop awarness and confidence in young adults; 3)"wellness" is a feeder program to the "whmb" program working with schools to connect with at-risk young adults dealing with a variety of life related challenges

Promote the skiing development of young athletes from the far west region with the objective of placing competitors onto the us ski team. far west also promotes alpine competition at all levels and provides financial support to athletes and coaches.

The foundation's purpose is to lessen the burdens of government for communities located in the vicinity of the town of truckee, n. lake tahoe and martis valley. this includes providing educational opportunities in recreational programs, performing arts, local libraries, civic and cultural programs, historical preservation, and other initiatives to promote health and welfare of citizens.

Through our farmer network, we have built a strong, local food system and connected our community with tahoes close proximity to year-round, food production. we offer a variety of programs to educate our community on the environmental, economic and social benefits of a local food system. our food hubs earned income model supports our other programs and services. giving box programoprovides fresh, local produce to north lake tahoe families facing food insecurity. farm to school program oprovides place-based education and hands-on learning to teach students the importance of local food and sustainable agriculture. farmer resiliency fund oprovides funding to farmers in need of technical and business-related assistance to ensure their farms viability. forever farmsopreserves agricultural land in partnership with agricultural stakeholders in nevada and placer county
