The saugatuck dunes coastal alliance works to protect and preserve the natural geography, historical heritage, and rural character of the saugatuck dunes coastal region in the kalamazoo river watershed.

The objective of the pioneers shall be to recognize achievement in the field of plastics/polymer science, engineering, technology and management; improvement of plastics, science, engineering and technology. these objectives shall be achieved by: 1-conducting an annual meeting to enable menbers to decide on which programs should be recognized. 2-contributing funds from its treasury to educational programs which the association deems worthy of support. 3-administering a scholarship program for deserving students in the study of plastics/polymer science, engineering, technology and management.
