Golden state opportunity (gso) is a nonprofit dedicated to ending poverty by providing all californians with the tools to build financial well-being and thrive. our work is along two complementary tracks getting people the help they need right now and building the infrastructure to change attitudes toward people living in poverty and the policies that keep them there. gso leads comprehensive statewide campaigns to help families access tax credits and public benefits, achieve financial stability, and plan for the future through programs that uplift low-income californians. our community of working families is leading the charge for public policies that end poverty in california. gso wont stop pushing for systemic change until everyone can easily access the resources they need to meet their basic needs and transform their lives with financial stability.

The robert m. takasugi public interest fellowship promotes the vision and values of public interest legal work in honor of judge takasugi, senior federal judge in the central district of california. the fellowship was created to honor judge takasugi and to perpetuate his influence, independence, courage, vision of equal justice and demand that women and minorities be accorded equal treatment.the robert m. takasugi public interest fellowship's primary objective is the selection of one or more law students from across the nation as takasugi fellows and funding their summer legal work for the public interest. takasugi fellows selected will work in the san francisco bay area and the greater los angeles metropolitan area. the fellowship will fund those fellows' work in an amount up to $50,000 per year.

Playgroup provides a full-day montessori pedagogy program for preschoolers, 5 days a week from 8 am-6 pm. the program blends academics, play, gross motor skills, creative arts, and music to prepare children for elementary school.

Outdoors empowered network is a national network of community-led, youth-centered outdoor education groups that are dedicated to increasing access and diversity in the outdoors through gear libraries and outdoor leadership training.
