To maintain and enhance trails across usfs lands. work includes restoring and rehabilitating historic trails as well as creation of new trails. trail work reduces erosion and minimizes human impact in the forests fostering historic preservation and continued environmental preservation while providing the public with access.

Provides search and rescue services for the residents and visitors to plumas county and surrounding jurisdictions, as requested by proper authorities.

Plumas rural services is a northeastern california community based, npo providing services and opportunities for the well being of local residents and families to improve quality of life and self sufficiency by promoting health, education, prevention and treatment.

To provide support services through the head start program, the early head start program, the california state preschool program, and the child care food program.

To provide workforce development services throughout plumas, lassen, modoc, butte, nevada, and sierra counties in northern california to include a broad range of workforce development and community centered inititiatives.

Provide an organization to collect, protect, restore, clean, index and display artifacts indigenous to plumas county, california, for viewing by the general public. the museum building is owned by plumas county and the curator is a county employee. operations of the museum are directed by a board of trustees who serve without pay of expense reimbursements. said artifacts include personal property and also include some historical buildings. the museum also provides research archives and sells historical books and papers related to the history of plumas county, california.

To promote the understanding, appreciation and protection of the biodiversity of the feather river region, especially birds, through education, research, restoration and conservation.

To support the plumas-sierra county fairgrounds and fair ensuring that the grounds and facilities will remain and prosper for future generations to come. through fundraising, grants, and volunteer organization the pscf strives to provide the fairgrounds with the resources needed to remain active, solvent, and viable in our community.

Enhance, promote and furnish fire protection for a community of approximately 7,000. provide fire and rescue service for a county of approximately 22,000. provide volunteer labor training and financial assistance to tax supported fire districts. provide training in local schools using a fire safety mobile home.

(see schedule o)the feather river land trust has as its mission to conserve the lands and waters of the feather river region and steward their ecological,cultural and educational values for current and future generations. the land trust carries out its mission by creating a legacy of protected lands either by purchasing property outright or by acquiring conservation easements. the organization then provides stewardship of these protected lands. the organization also provides outreach programs that inform people of all ages about the importance of local flora and fauna, natural systems, cultural heritage, and related human well being. funding is provided through a combination of donations, grants, and membership dues.
