Metropolitan family service (the agency) is an independent not-for-profit agency, established to help people move from poverty to prosperity, from inequity to social justice, and from social isolation to connectedness.

The mission guides us in all of the work we do. the children, families, and older adults accessing our services come from all socioeconomic backgrounds. we provide access to services for all - regardless of background or ability to pay. last year, we provided more than $426,631 in financial assistance to more than 2,691 neighbors who needed our support.

To provide vocational opportunities to people with disabilities as well as others with barriers to employment. part i and part iii, line 1 - 2022 activities: 16,849 units of service through goodwill's free job connection program; of that number gicw helped 5,969 find jobs. 76 individuals were served through long-term services step program. retail employment and training provided to 2,548 individuals with barriers. english-as-a-second language provided to 441 people with language barriers. 3,028 employees served through goodwill's employee and community education program which provided 24,974 services. 3,227 community members served through goodwill's employee and community education program which provided 4,519 services.

Legacy good samaritan hospital and medical center (lgshmc), founded in 1875, is one of the earliest hospitals in the pacific northwest. lgshmc provides acute and tertiary care in portland, or and specializes in several high-level specialty services.
