The purpose of the organization is to provide public library programs and services to the residents of the palmyra community public library district, in the town of palmyra, excluding the portion of the town that lies within the newark central school district.

Provide education for full time students in grades pre-k through 12th with faculty, curriculum, and a place where these activities are conducted.

To promote education, and historical research regarding the early history of palmyra, ny, and to gather and preserve historical artifacts, antiques and property for public display and future generations.

To improve the quality of life for residents of the town and village of palmyra.
