The friends of onancock school mission is to rehabilitate the historic onancock school into a community and cultural campus through community and business partnerships.

To encourage and promote an interest in the study of the history of the eastern shore and the commonwealth of virginia; to carry on research and work of a historical character; to identify and preserve historic buildings, landmarks, and other objects and documents of historical value; to promote historical and educational projects that will aid in the development of the eastern shore of virginia; and to perform such other acts as consistent with the general purposes of a historical society.

Bringing together a cross- section of artists, actors, and technicians from the community. theatre is used by local community college as a theatre workshop.

Assisting victims of domestic violence

Operation of federally supported community health centers.

Provision of fire and rescue services.
