The childrens museum of oak park d/b/a wonder works (the museum) is an illinois not-for profit organization under the general not-for-profit-corporation act of illinois. the museum was founded in 1991.the museum was established to operate as a childrens museum serving oak park, illinois and surrounding communities. in addition to operating a museum for children, the museum hosts special programming, outreach initiatives, and activities that provide positive play-based learning experiences that follow the state's early childhood learning educational standards.
