The purpose of coastal virginia conservancy is to restore, from legacy contamination, the environmental quality of elizabeth river watershed to the highest practicable level and conserve it for future beneficial use. coastal virginia conservancy's restoration mission is aligned with the regulatory missions of the virginia department of environmental quality (deq), virginia marine resources commission (vmrc), and the norfolk district army corps of engineers, to mitigate permitted impacts to aquatic resources. coastal virginia conservancy's conservation mission is to preserve, in trust, land in southeastern virginia for recreation, parks, wildlife preservation, drainage, water and air quality, and the public's health and well-being. in this effort, coastal virginia conservancy works with private property owners, virginia localities, and community organizations to enhance the public's awareness of the benefits of land conservation.

Cancer care foundation of tidewater provides practical information, emotional support and financial assistance to cancer patients in the tidewater community.

The mission of tidewater arts outreach (tao) to bring joy to older adults and those living in isolating circumstances and enhance their well-being through creative engagement with the arts.

Bina girl's high school provides an orthodox jewish high school education for girls in the greater norfolk, va area. the school fosters pride in the student as a young jewish woman through developing her love for hashem, his torah and the jewish people.

Barry-robinson schools of norfolk is a non-stock, non-profit virginia-based corporation chartered in 2001, the organization is supported, supervised and controlled by james barry-robinson home for boys trust and was organized to construct and operate saint patrick catholic school, an independent roman catholic elementary school. in addition, the organization provides tuition assistance to other catholic elementary schools in norfolk which serve the area.
