The organization was established to respond to the growing need for emergency housing services exclusively intended for low-income families with minor children. the mission is preventing family homelessness. the organization considers housing essential to family well-being and works proactively to resolve a family's housing crisis and provide a path to stable housing, thereby reducing the number of children experiencing the lasting trauma of homelessness. the organization's geographic service area presently includes new london and windham counties in connecticut.

The nature center maintains a facility, museum and wildlife preserve in mystic, connecticut dedicated to promoting environmental education and awareness. the center manages over two hundred acres as a nature sanctuary which is open to the general public for a minimal fee and various programs are provided to school children, adults and families in order to inspire and nurture appreciation of the natural world and forst personal environmental ethic.

The organization was established to provide services to our member schools. these include but are not limited to school evaluations, professional development, and general guidance.
