The greater milwaukee committee is a private sector civic organization that aims to contribute to the cultural and economic base of the milwaukee area. the organization was formed in the late 1940's. during the past 70+ years the greater milwaukee committee has been at the forefront of major projects that provide long-term benefit to the economic and cultual vitality of the metropolitan area. it has been particularly active in the arts, downtown redevelopment, transportation, health and major building projects for professional sports and other purposes. more recently, gmc has initiated projects for neighborhood revitalization and improvement of the equality of educational institutions in the community. the active members of gmc serve on various committees that are responsible for each project. it is an organization in which members actively do the work, with the support of a small staff. most of the top leaders from all fields participate in the greater milwaukee committee.

The exempt purpose of asmh is to a) provide an interchange of ideas pertinent to histotechnology as it relates to mohs micrographic surgery; b) advance professional growth, standards knowledge and performance in mohs histotechnology through continuing and formal educational programs; c) create mutual understanding and cooperation between the members of the acms, other allied professionals and professional organizations and the public; d) safeguard the standards of histotechnology for processing micrographic surgery speciments; and e) encourage research in the field of mohs histotechnology.

The objectives are to promote, support, develop and stimulate information about contact dermatitis and occupational skin disease; to provide a forum for the exchanging of this information; to promote the education of physicians by encouraging courses in contact dermatitis, occupational dermatology and other related topics at scientific meetings and dermatology training centers, and to promote investigative research into these fields.
