The community museum society, inc. serves to preserve and advance the arts, culture and history of our community and state. the entity provides exhibit materials and a physical facility in which to accomplish the above.

Education - grades 3k through 12th grade

To provide financial support to governmental entities, section 501(c)(3) organizations, and other entities, as well as to engage directly in community and economic development activities, that further these purposes.

To fund educational programs for the public schools of florence county school district 3 in lower florence county to increase the academic performance of it's students, with an emphasis on literacy and numeracy.

The mission of the organization is to foster a culturally-rich environment in the region and toserve as a leader in the cultivation and enhancement of the region's creative economy by creating, sponsoring, or promoting programs that connect the community through the arts, music, history and culture of the region; advance the conservation, preservation, and promotion of the region's artistic, musical, cultural and historic resources; offer community outreach programs that provide assistance to economically disadvantaged members of the community; host community events and festivals; integrate the arts, music, history and culture of the region into the community's schools and education system; increase tourism and provide tourism based initiatives; and positively impact the quality of life for all citizens in the greater lake city area through the arts and social programs.

The organization is designed to promote community development among young women in and around the lake city area.

To provide fire protection for lower florence county and upper williamsburg counties in south carolina.

Raise funds to assist the disabled.
