Breakthrough energy is accelerating transformation bysupporting cutting-edge research and development, investing in companies that turn green ideas into clean products, andadvocating for policies that speed innovation from lab to market. through investment vehicles, philanthropic programs, policy and advocacy efforts, and other initiatives, breakthrough energy works with a global network of partners to accelerate the technologies we need to build a carbon-free economy.

The foundation focus on lifespan education from pre-k all the way up to retirement, helping through two-way mentorship for students and more seasoned professionals to help impart wisdom on each other for their different skill sets as well as scholarships for students who are hoping to go into business and entrepreneur tracks. the other focus is on disaster relief. we created a kirkland small business relief fund to help local small business.

The residency seeks to build a powerful community of young hip-hop artists equipped with the artistic and leadership skills, business acumen, and mentorship necessary to become professional artists and cultural change makers. through their participation in the residency, young artists from low-income families in the seattle area acquire tangible artistic and professional skills while also gaining confidence, teamwork, and a deepened understanding of their own identity and power.the year-round program includes a month long intensive workshop where up to 45 young people participate in either a vocal or production track. during the intensive, youth write original songs, record in a professional studio and perform in front of hundreds of people at a premiere seattle venue. in addition to making, recording and performing their music, the youth participate in a number of engaging panel discussions with leaders in the northwest creative community.

The island treasure awards honor excellence in the arts and/or humanities, and are presented annually to individuals who have made outstanding contributions in the arts and humanities or have been a leader of efforts that have benefitted our cultural community. the award is a community-based program intended to identify and consider creative individuals who are living on bainbridge island or whose principal work is based on bainbridge island, and have displayed an ongoing commitment to their chosen field.

To promote health and wellness in our community through traditional martial arts. training programs taught by 4th degree or higher black belts focus on developing additional skills and helping students of all ages develop mental clarity and general physical condition.
