The museum collects, preserves, and exhibits artifacts and documents about the chesapeake bay steamboat era from approximately 1813 to 1937. it also provides steamboat era related educational programs and publications.

Of the $283,730 spent on works in progress, building costs, $280,690 was spent on the fricke pavilion in 2022. the total cost of the pavilion for the years 2021 and 2022 was $779,892. the total cost is recognized on the books as an asset, pavilion.depreciation is recognized as a program cost for 2022. training courses, other educational functions and outreach are currently based out of the pavilion while the next phase of development is completed.taxpayer engaged the monument group for purposes of refining its fundraising focus. the fundraising expense of $51,150 is an investment in identifying and cultivating ongoing support for the lancova partners for pets, inc./nnpp mission.
