The dr. shirley linzy young artists orchestra of las vegas (yao) operates the only tuition-free youth orchestra program in the state of nevada. each season, yao serves over 200 students and young professionals, and presents over 15 concerts and events that enrich our local community. since our founding in 2015, 100% of our high school graduates received large or full scholarships to go to college. we are profoundly passionate about educating, promoting, and developing the musical talent of our students through diverse and cultural music programming, entrepreneurship, and civic engagement. we strongly believe students in our program learn to build better relationships through teamwork and engagement, analytical skill development, and time management, to name a few. regardless of career choice, these are skills which will transfer over and build successful careers and outstanding citizens for the betterment of our community.

Miracle flights is a national charity that provides free commercial airline tickets for u.s. residents in need for distant medical care not available in their own communities. our organization was founded in 1985 on the belief that no child should be denied access to the life changing health care they need because of distance. since then, we've provided more than 137,363 free flights to patients whose medical conditions are treated only by a handful of experts located across the country, making medical travel a necessity. unfortunately, the need for our service grows with each passing year. every 30 seconds, a child is diagnosed with a serious illness or injury and there are over 20,000 known rare diseases. we help treat all diseases for patients of every age. simply put, we'll fly anyone with a complex medical need who requires distant medical care as many times needed.
