Mesa county center of education, inc., a colorado nonprofit corporation (the organization''), was organized and is operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code of 1986, as amended (the ''code'') and accompanying regulations. specifically, the organization's activities will: (i) lessen the burdens of government of mesa county, colorado (the "county"); (ii) construct a facility that will assist the county in advancing education; (iii) construct a facility that will assist the county in providing relief to the poor and distressed or underprivileged; and (iv) construct a facility that will assist the county in promoting social welfare by combating community deterioration and juvenile delinquency.

The organization sponsors and hosts the national junior college athletic association (njcaa) baseball world series each year (juco world series). the majority of revenues are from tournament related activities and are used to pay for the tournament, cover costs of the teams, and help maintain the stadium.
