Ams was formed to support the charitable purposes of arnot medical center which include providing physician services designed to improve the quality of health care available to the residents of chemung county, new york and other areas served by the hospital. furthermore, amss purpose is to participate in activities to promote and improve the overall health of, and to otherwise meet the medical care needs of, the community and to advance, promote, foster and support clinical research. the formation of ams was largely motivated by the goal of an integrated medical service system; namely to encourage the hospital and physicians to work in conjunction with each other to improve access to, and to provide better care for patients in the community. ams provides nondiscriminatory services to medicare and medicaid recipients and provides financial assistance on a case-by-case basis for patients who earn 300% or less of the federal poverty guidelines for the applicable family size.

Donations to various groups and organizations

To provide fire protection and emergency services to the residents of the town of southport fire district #1.

To provide funds to the community foundation's "glenn m schuyler fund" to be used for various charitable purposes in the chemung county, ny area.

To provide funds for the humane society of schuyler county, inc to beused for the benefit of schuyler county residents by supporting the spay-neuter program. providing food and general veterinarian services to animals awaiting adoption, and assisting with general maintenance.

To support the chemung county library district and related entities and to maintain library operations.

On going operations as a cemetery and memorial park

To provide funds in support and maintenance of olive free library of west shokan, new york.

Provide financial support to arnot ogden medical center, st josephs hospital and the physician offices.

Support the arnot ogden medical center, st. joseph's hospital and its affiliates by coordinating volunteer labor, operating a gift shop and numerous fundraising activities to benefit the medical centers and physician offices.

To provide legal representation to juveniles in nys family court.
