The house next door, inc. (the organization) is a not-for-profit corporation that provides mental health and educational services as a ministry of care and concern for families in the community. its primary purpose is to prevent problems from developing in individuals and families, and to show those experiencing problems how to solve them before they become more serious. the organization also operates a child day care program that supports its primary purpose of preventative mental health and education. the health card program and child care food program (ccfp) promote good health in families.

The neighborhood center of west volusia's vision is to be an integral part of the collaborative efforts to serve the homeless, to feed the hungry, and to prevent homelessness in the deland and west volusa county area.

Operation of residential facilities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The volusia county fair & youth show, founded in 1930, provides a place for youth to learn and show their livestock products; residents of volusia county are encouraged to participate in art, photography, music, agriculture, horticulture, home and craft projects. the fair gives students an opportunity to showcase their talents while competing for awards.

A visual arts museum dedicated to the collecting, preservation, study, display and educational use of the fine arts. the museum is host to numerous rotating exhibits, gallery talks and receptions.
