The mission of the discovery playhouse is to create fun, creative, and intereactive experiences for children and their caregivers as they play, discover, and learn.

The parks and recreation foundation provides for the improvement of parks, facilities, programs, events & related civic initiatives for the citizens and vistors of/to cape girardeau missouri.

Programs for mentally challenged

To promote, advance and provide for social, physical and educational well being of residents of the missouri veteran's home. this includes providing funding for recognition of resident caregivers who greatly affect the morale and social well being of the residents.

Provided a safe place for area youth to use as a recreational facility and to conduct educational reinforcement classes for "at risk" youth
