The clarksville community players, inc. exists to enrich, educate and entertain the people of the lakes region of virginia by providing a superior theatre experience in a state-of-the-art facility.performing mainly in the clarksville fine arts center, the players usually produce two plays per year -- one in the spring (often a musical) and one in the fall (mostly a non-musical). the group also offers performances through its guest artist series, where a variety of artists will showcase their talents. during the summer, a children's (ages 7 - 12) and youth theatre workshop (ages 13 - 22) are held to teach all aspects of theatre to children (technical theatre, acting, scene construction, etc.).the clarksville community players, inc. ojectives are:cooperation: work with the community, government and various organizations to enhance the creative process. special emphasis is placed on fund-raising for the restoration of the clarksville fine arts center.education and training: provide traini

Lake country spca, founded in september 2002, is a non-profit, no-kill animal rescue group based in mecklenburg county, virginia. our organization is run completely by volunteers dedicated to the well being of companion animals. since our permanent facility is in the planning stages, all animals in the custody of lcspca are housed in foster homes or at our temporary shelter location at 7577 hwy. 58, clarksville, or at our sanctuary location managed by our members. in addition to fostering rescued animals, our members also administer medications, assist with transportation for medical treatments and spay/neuters, rescue animals in need, help with state required paperwork, organize fund raising, administer our programs and respond to calls on our telephone help line, 434-374-8076.
