The billies summerfest in fy22, offered four months of free outdoor programming ending with the culminating annual event restorationrocks! two well attended visual art exhibitions, the first entitled "time??x and the second, "black genius: we rise...still" was a success and reached approximately 2,800 attendees. the 22-year-old youth arts academy continued to thrive in fy22 achieving our goal of 100% scholarship participation for the program. presented in partnership with the stella adler studio for acting, the black art institute (bai) is a professional theater training program that provides an immersive exploration of americas black theatre canon while addressing gaps that still exist today in many theater training programs across the country that do not fully reflect the exquisite diversity of students of african descent. the billie also partners with the tisch school of the arts at new york university on the bai transfer track, a 14-week theater intensive that is accredited by nyu.
