It takes a village is a 501 c3 nonprofit organization founded by an african american veterinarian dr. vernard hodges. dr. hodges attended fort valley state university a prominent agricultural historical black college or university. he started it takes a village to expose children to careers in stem particularly veterinary and agricultural sciences. the foundation received a grant from the usda national resources conservation service to assist field agents in georgia and alabama with reviewing conservation contracts held by producers in those states.

Our mission is to join the social transformation movement as positive influencers by engaging our audience through media. not your average girl dad (nyagd) is currently in the midst of our pilot podcast series to inform, enrich and entertain the lives of our listeners and subscribers. we will provide a platform to bridge communication gaps and remove barriers across the generations. we will provide volunteer and internship opportunities for career pathways.
