The mission of the bakersfield symphony is to unify and celebrate our diverse community through shared musical experiences and to provide students across kern county, but especially those in rural and disadvantaged areas, every opportunity for quality musical, artistic, and educational experiences.

The procurement and extension of financial aid toward the operation, maintenance and modernization of facilities of memorial health systems, inc., and bakersfield memorial hospital its affiliated entities. so that the greatest amount of health care services may be extended to the greatest number of persons served by memorial health systems, inc. and its affiliated entities. these activities may be broad in scope, and among other things, may include an endowment for medical research, the establishment of medical and paramedical scholarships and the funding of programs, facilities or equipment to enhance the delivery of health services to the area.

The organization provides new school clothing to needy school children in the bakersfield area. overall, 3,050 children from several districts benefited by school referrals. the organization also has several other philanthropic programs as listed in part iii.

The mission of the arts council of kern is to provide, support, and promote arts access, advocacy, and education for all kern county residents and visitors. we are a 501(c)(3) non profit organization and are the designated local arts agency for kern county, serving our mission in partnership with the california arts council, the county of kern, and local agencies.
