Amana colonies festivals inc is a non-profit organization dedicated to organizing festivals and events promoting the vibrant culture and heritage in the amana colonies - national historic landmark.the amana colonies festivals promotes and does education of the local heritage and culture during four festivals in amana each year. maifest (a celebration of spring featuring: maipole dancers, german music, and parade), oktoberfest (everyone's favorite german-style fall festival, parade, activities, demonstrations, and music throughout the colonies), prelude to christmas (a timeless escape during the holiday season. candle-lit streets, tannenbaun forest, santa, and shopping), and winterfest (indoor and outdoor wintertime fun, breakfast in a communal kitchen, fireside chili, sledding, and seasonal competitions).
